... and current vin can be read?

The current VIN number of the radio can be read without any problems. The only thing that does not funtion correctly is writing another VIN number to the radio.

No, it is a Sony 6CD DAB radio which was originally fitted into a 2009 C-max. The radio settings can be configured complety using ELMconfig. The only "problem" is the VIN number can not be changed by ELMconfig.

I used the same ELM327 interface to change the VIN numbers of all modules I changed so far. Last week I changed the VIN number of my old 6000CD without any problems using this interface.

try to read/write VIN in any other module. if situation is the same it means that your adapter doesn't correspond to ELM327 specifications..

Changing the VIN number of other modules is functioning correctly. some time ago I changed my original HEC, GEM and BCM and changed the VIN numbers of these modules without any problems.

i was also able to change the VIN number of the 6000CD which was factory fitted in my car. The Sony 6CD DAB radio is the only one so far which gives an error when i try to change the VIN number.

Sorry for my English.

Recently I bought a 6-CD Sony DAB radio which was originally installed into a 2009 C-max. After installation of this radio into my Focus I used ELMconfig 0.2.10c to check for error codes and configure the radio correctly for my Focus.

Reading/erasing the error codes and configuring the radio could be done without any problems. When I tried to also change the VIN number of the radio to my cars VIN number I got the following error.

Is this a known problem and is there a possible solution to change the VIN number of this radio? It is not a big problem of course but it would be nice to change the VIN number of this radio.

Sorry for my English.

On the configuration screen of the PCM there is the option to change the Fuel Octane.

posted image

The highest Fuel Octane that can be set is 95 RON. Does the Focus MK2 also support Fuel Octane settings of 98 RON? I know some other Ford models can be set to a Fuel octane of 98 RON. I was wondering if this is also possible for the Focus MK2. I always use 98 RON (or higher) Fuel and it would be great to set the PCM to 98 RON.

Sorry for my English but it is a bit better than my Russian.

At first I would like to thank you for another version of this great software. In Holland we are very happy with it.

today I managed to read and save the settings and firmware of my PCM without any problems. The procedure took 5 minutes with an ELM327 interface with the FTDI chipset and the speed set at 500000.

My car is a German built (Saarlouis factory) 2005 model with the 1.6 (100 HP engine).

This is a screenshot of the PCM numbers:

Which firmware would be suitable for this type of PCM? Last week I downloaded 7M51AGE, 7M51AKE and 7M51ALE. Are these firmware versions suitable or do I need other firmware for this type of PCM? I have a lot of firmware files but do not know which one to use.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Thank you for the new functions of this great program.

Now I was finally able to configure my spare Mondeo MK4 Bluetooth/Voicecontrol module for my Focus MK2.

Do you know if it would be possible to configure the newer multi-language Focus MK3 Bluetooth/Voicecontrol module for the Focus MK2.

Finally i have solved the problems.

One problem was indeed the instrument cluster itself. The soldering of the pins of the connector on the instrument panel was cracked and turned black. After re-soldering al the pins everything seems to work fine.

The second problem was an error in the AS-BUILT configuration file of the instrument cluster. The second line of the AS-built info was exactly the same as the first line. After programming the AS-BUILT data of the vehicle where the instrument cluster originally came from this problem is also solved.

Thanks for putting me in the right direction.

First sorry for my english.

Finally i have the 2010 facelift instrument cluster working in my 2005 pre-facelift without using Ford IDS. I have got the FoCom interface with the latest FoCom software. This software can write keys and perform the PCM-HEC pairing procedure (PATS pairing).

The car is starting now and runs fine but i have a few problems. After approximately 30 seconds the messages engine failure and acceleration limited appear on the screen of the instrument cluster and the engine light stays on. The car runs normally (no limited power). There are 2 DTC codes in the PCM and instrument cluster which say malfunction of the accelerator pedal. Right now i have put the original instrument cluster back into the car and everything is fine again. The DTC codes are also gone.

Later i noticed another funny thing. The time settings of the new instrument cluster and radio resets every time when the ignition is switched on.

Is there anyone here with the same experience? Could a broken instrument cluster cause this problem or maybe just a configuration problem.

Thanks.

Thank you for your answer.

The PCM / HEC initializaton by IDS is the only available option right now i think.

I have read that there is a difference in the lenght of the file (4 bits or 5 bits) between the 2005 and 2010 instrument cluster. Would this be a problem for IDS to perform the PCM / HEC initializaton procedure?

Hello,

Sorry for my English here but i don't speak russian very well and most translation software isn't very good for English to Russian translations i suppose.

I have been reading this topic for almost a year now and need some advice.

I have got a 2005 Focus MK2 (VIN = WF05XXGCD55J34070) and want to put a 2010 Focus MK2.5 instrument cluster with the small screen (which i already have). I have got an ELM327 interface with ELMconfig and ELM-FF2 and the FOCOM interface / software to write the keys.

this is what i have done so far: I have put the new (used) instrument cluster into my car and copied al of the settings from the old instrument cluster to the new one. Next i have deleted all of the existing keys from the new instrument cluster and have written the keys. The keys are now recognised by the instrument cluster but the car will still not start because of the following error.

B2141 - Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) configuration failure – No PCM ID stored in PATS.

Now i have put the old instrument cluster back, have written the keys and everything is working as before.

I hope someone knows a solution for this problem. It isn't neccesary to answer in english.

Thank you.
